The 2^nd International Symposium on Mine Safety Science and Engineering (ISMSSE2013) will be held in Beijing on September 21-23, 2013. The symposium is authorized by the State Administration of Work Safety and is sponsored by China Academy of Safety Science & Technology (CASST), North China Institute of Science and Technology (NCIST), China University of Mining & Technology (Beijing) (CUMTB), McGill University (Canada), National Safety Council, University of Wollongong and Mining Products Safety Approval and Certification Center (MA Center) with participation from several other universities from round the world, research institutes, professional associations and large enterises. An excellent achievements exhibition （“Four First Batch”） of the latest technologies in mine safety science will be held during the Symposium. 

The symposium papers will be collected and published online by CRC Press/ Balkema (Taylor and Francis Group, indexed by EI). Selected and peer reviewed papers will be published in International Journals in the form of a special issue (Disaster Advances,IF=2.272,SCI).
