Biao Kong

Dr. Biao Kong, Ph.D., is an academic professor currently affiliated with the College of Safety and Environmental Engineering at Shandong University of Science and Technology. His primary research focuses on mine fire prevention and control, as well as intelligent monitoring and early warning systems. Over the past five years, he has led two National Natural Science Foundation of China projects (General Program and Youth Program), one China Postdoctoral Science Foundation General Program. To date, he has published two monographs as the first author, authored or corresponded 37 SCI/EI-indexed papers, obtained 16 national invention patents, and secured 7 software copyrights. He serves as the head of the Innovation Team for the Young Creative Sci-Tech Program of Shandong Higher Education Institutions, a review expert for the Academic Degree Center of the Ministry of Education, and an evaluation expert for the College Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Program of Shandong Province. He has been honored with several awards, including the Youth Science and Technology Award from the China Occupational Safety and Health Association, the Green Mine Youth Science and Technology Award, the Nomination Award for Outstanding Young Sci-Tech Talent in the Field of Safety, the Nomination Award for Outstanding Young Sci-Tech Talent in the National Higher Education Institutions in Mining, Petroleum, and Safety Engineering, and has been recognized as a Global Top 2% Most-cited Scientist in 2024 and 2025.
