Dr. Liu Peng is the Associate Professor in Chongqing University; Deputy Director, Department of Safety Engineering; Master's Supervisor. His research primarily focuses on coal mine gas disaster prevention and control theory, physical field permeability enhancement technology for coal reservoirs, and engineering applications for intensified gas extraction. He has led over 10 research projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) General Program and Young Scientists Fund, sub-projects of the National Key R&D Program of China, Chongqing Key New Energy Projects, and industry-academia collaborations.

Dr. Liu pioneered the innovative high-power, broad-frequency ultrasound permeability enhancement technology for gas extraction, which has been successfully deployed in gas extraction projects across nine mining areas targeting difficult-to-extract coal seams. This technology has significantly improved gas extraction efficiency and gas control standards. His scholarly output includes 40+ SCI/EI-indexed papers as first or corresponding author, 20+ authorized national patents and software copyrights, and 3 provincial/ministerial-level science and technology awards. He serves as a Young Editorial Board Member and Editor for journals including International Journal of Mining Science and Technology (IJMST) and International Journal of Coal Science & Technology (IJCST).
