Prof. Lina Zheng is a Professor at the School of Safety Engineering, China University of Mining and Technology. She also serves as Deputy Director of the Institute of Occupational Health at CUMT and Deputy Director of the Jiangsu Engineering Research Center for Dust Control and Occupational Protection. She is a Jiangsu Distinguished Professor and was selected for the National Young Talent Program of China. She received her Ph.D. degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of Cincinnati, USA, in 2016, and conducted research at the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, from 2016 to 2019.Her research focuses on occupational health protection, dust exposure monitoring, aerosol characterization, and intelligent occupational protection technologies to address workplace dust hazards through advanced monitoring methods, rapid aerosol analysis, and innovative protective systems. She has led research projects supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the National Key Research and Development Program of China, and China Energy Investment Corporation.Her research has developed innovative dust monitoring instruments, including China’s first mining dust monitor based on the oscillating microbalance principle, and rapid aerosol analysis technologies using microscale enrichment and spectroscopy. She has also developed intelligent respiratory protection systems and occupational health risk assessment technologies, with applications in mining enterprises and occupational health institutions.Prof. Zheng has published more than 50 papers and holds over 40 granted invention patents. Her research has been published in leading journals, including Analytical Chemistry, Journal of Aerosol Science, Aerosol Science and Technology, and ACS Sensors. She has received the NIOSH Alice Hamilton Award, the First Prize of the Science and Technology Progress Award from the China Occupational Safety and Health Association (1/15), and the Second Prize of the 2025 National Science and Technology Progress Award (9/10).
