Dr. Yubing Liu is an Associate Professor and Doctoral Supervisor of School of Safety Engineering at China University of Mining and Technology (CUMT). He serves as Vice Director of Discipline Construction at School of Safety Engineering. He was also a visiting scholar in Peking University. His research interests focus on true-triaxial coal mechanics, aiming to understanding and predicting coal and rock dynamic disasters. Dr. Liu received his B.E. and Ph.D. in Mining Engineering from Chongqing University and visiting Ph.D. in Exploration Geophysics from Curtin University. He has served as PI on 5 National and Ministerial -level projects including 2 National Natural Science Foundation of China projects (General and Youth), and 1 sub-project of National Key R&D Program of China, et al., while he has participated in NSFC Major Scientific Instruments and Equipments Development Project (funded with 85 million RMB). In his research field, Dr. Liu has published 23 papers as first or corresponding author in top-rated journals (5 ESI hot or highly-cited papers), 18 invention patents and 1 monograph. Dr. Liu has received the First Prize of Chongqing Science and Technology Progress Award and Highly-cited Paper Award of Gas Science and Engineering. He also serves as editorial board of Scientific Reports, and handling editor of Frontiers in Earth Science, and 5 youth editorial boards of International Journal of Mining Science & Technology, Geohazard Mechanics, Sustainability, et al., and 6 guest editors.
