Xiangguo Kong

Dr. Xiangguo Kong, Ph.D. (Postdoctoral), Associate Professor, Project doctoral/master supervisor, Deputy Director of the Department of Safety Engineering at Xi'an University of Science and Technology, visiting scholar at the University of Queensland, Australia, Outstanding Young Talent of Higher Education in Shaanxi Province, A global top 2% scientist for three consecutive years from 2023 to 2025, Expert for the Degree and Graduate Education Development Center of the Ministry of Education, Expert of the Shaanxi Emergency Management and Work Safety Association, Editor-in-Chief of Sustainable Earth Resources Communications, and young editorial board member of Coal Geology and Exploration, International Journal of Mining Science and Technology, and Journal of Xi'an University of Science and Technology. His main research focuses on the prevention and control of coal and gas disasters. He has presided over more than 10 projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China General and Youth Programs, China Postdoctoral Science Foundation, Shaanxi Provincial Natural Science Foundation, and Xi'an University of Science and Technology Excellent Young Fund. He has published over 30 high-level SCI/EI papers, 5 of which as first author have been selected as ESI Highly Cited papers. He has also published one textbook and one monograph, and holds more than 10 authorized patents and software copyrights. His achievements have won more than 10 provincial and ministerial awards, including the Second Prize of Science and Technology of Shaanxi Province.
