Dr. Lei Zhang is a professor and doctoral supervisor at China University of Mining and Technology. He has been selected as a young scholar in the National Major Talent Project, a recipient of the Jiangsu Provincial Outstanding Youth Fund, and the Third Youth Talent Support Program of the China Association for Science and Technology (funded by the association). Additionally, he was recognized as the world top 2% scientist (by Stanford University). His research primarily focuses on coal and coal seam gas co-mining and intelligent mining, etc. He serves as deputy director of the Key Laboratory of Deep Coal Resource Mining under the Ministry of Education and deputy director of the Intelligent Mining Research Center at China University of Mining and Technology. Zhang has led over 10 national and provincial key projects, including the Jiangsu Provincial Outstanding Youth Fund, the National Natural Science Fund, and the Guizhou Provincial Key Science and Technology Projects. He has authored five monographs and textbooks and published more than 100 high-quality academic papers. With over 40 authorized domestic and international invention patents, he has also been the primary contributor to awards such as the second prize of the Guizhou Provincial Natural Science Award and the second prize of the Anhui Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award.
